Born and raised on Vancouver’s Westside, Dan and Alex formed Lyndan Properties in 2023 with the goal to make family living in the City more attainable for the next generation.
Dan Scarrow
Dan grew up surrounded by the real estate business and has worked in real estate since 2006. Having started his career as a residential realtor at Macdonald Realty, Dan learned the intricacies of Vancouver’s real estate market while developing an understanding of which housing types were both lacking and most sought after. In 2014, Dan founded the Canadian Real Estate Investment Centre in Shanghai, China, where he resided from 2014 – 2018. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Dan gained valuable experience working in China, advising diverse clients while prioritizing the understanding of their specific needs. Upon his return to Canada, Dan’s past experiences allowed him to identify a clear void in Vancouver’s real estate market and he was motivated to fill it. Leveraging his unique and informed perspective, Dan sought to expand the Macdonald Realty Group’s umbrella to include a development division and bring more housing options to his home city. In 2023, Dan and Alex formed Lyndan Properties to do just that.
Alex Warren
Having grown up with Vancouver’s real estate growth being ubiquitous conversation, Alex’s interest in the sector was sparked at a young age. Upon completing his Economics degree from Queens University in 2013, he immediately entered the real estate development industry, gaining invaluable “sink or swim” experience at a small boutique developer in Vancouver. This all-encompassing role gave Alex exposure to the full development lifecycle of a project and taught him to successfully navigate the problems faced at all stages. Seeking larger and more complex projects, Alex joined one of Vancouver’s top 5 developers in 2016 and as a Development Manager was responsible for a wide gamut of projects, ranging from 4 storey wood frame buildings to 26 storey concrete towers. Although this work was rewarding, Alex eventually became aware of where his real estate passion truly was; to provide attainable family-sized housing options in the neighborhoods in which he grew up. In 2023, a chance coffee with Dan saw their visions align and Lyndan was born.
